The Methodist Home for Children and Youth is more than a homefor children, it is also a home for a host of children and family programs and services. With six sites across South Georgia (Macon, Americus, Valdosta, St. Marys, Columbus and Waverly Hall), we have a range of more than 15 services.
For those who want or need to know more about the Methodist Home, this site is a wealth of information. In 2010, we are celebrating 154 years of children being served on this campus. In 1872, the orphanage was turned over to the Methodist church and has served over 10,000 children and young people since then.
You will find we serve more children, more places, more ways, more effectively than ever before. We have a bold vision... that the children and families we serve will be far better off because we have met one another. In doing this, we intend to change the way Georgia treats its children.
We hope you enjoy our site. Visit as often as you like and e-mail me if you have any thoughts, questions or concerns. We are here as God's servants in a troubled world.

At first glance the Methodist Home for Children and Youth hardly seems to be the place for revolutions – even quiet ones. And Macon appears to be an unlikely city for aiding and abetting such activity. Yet, the way the City of Macon across the years rallied support for The Methodist Children’s Home, giving land, opening doors, trading tears for smiles and in effect restoring childhoods – is nothing less than revolutionary. The untold story of how the citizens of Macon embraced hundreds of at-risk children as far back as Reconstruction Days is a sacred part of Macon’s heritage.
To hear more about this “Quiet Revolution” as presented in the national literary prizewinner, Patches of the Quilt: True Stories from a Children’s Home, please join us. As one reviewer wrote, “This book made me laugh and made me cry. It was heart-warming, heart-wrenching and hilarious
