Arabella – Waverly Hall
The Methodist Home’s Waverly Hall campus, Arabella, serves girls ages 13 to 18 years old. We accept referrals from DFCS, DJJ, MAAC and parental custody under special circumstances. Youth characteristics include, but are not limited to: mild/moderate behavioral and emotional issues, oppositional behaviors, reactive attachment issues and sexual abuse history.
- The Arabella Campus provides Residential Care Maximum Watchful Oversight/Additional Watchful Oversight services for girls (13 to 18 years old).
- We strive to place each child who is referred to us in a timely manner. If the referral is not a match for our Arabella campus, we work to find a place for that child. If the child is not a match for our organization, we provide resources for other avenues of placement.
- Higher Education – Educational support is available for youth attending college, vocational school and/or military.
Mrs. Doreene Carlisle
Residential Director (Columbus)
Doreene Carlisle serves as Residential Director for our Columbus campuses: The Carpenter’s Way Ranch and Arabella. Doreene has a Master’s of Science degree in Counseling and Psychology from Troy University. She started working at The Methodist Home in April 2018. Before joining our team, Doreene had 12+ years of experience with Georgia Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. As Residential Director, Doreene is responsible for oversight of The Carpenter’s Way Ranch and Arabella and will work in partnership with Lighthouse for Families, HOPE Foster Care and our Development Department to provide quality residential services to our young people and their families.
