We are blessed to have the volunteer services of compassionate citizens in our surrounding communities. Volunteers help provide the heart-beat of any service-oriented organization. Volunteers often find that not only does their service bless others, but it is a blessing to themselves as well!
At The Methodist Home, volunteers help us in a variety of ways:
- Administrative services (stuff envelopes, file documents, Xerox, create packets and notebooks, etc.)
- Receptionist services (working the phones, greeting people)
- Organizing events for a cottage of boys or girls (movie nights, game nights, outings such as bowling or pizza, etc.)
- Working at events for a campus (helping with Celebration Day, Community Fish Fry, etc.)
- Aiding our development and marketing work (helping with mailings, phone calls, fundraising events, etc.)
- Mentoring a child
- Working with an Auxiliary Group
- Spending time with a cottage of children
If you are interested in volunteering at the Macon campus, we invite you to attend one of our “Meet and Greet” events, held bi-monthly on the 3rd Thursday at 5:00 pm in the Rumford Center. Contact Jessica Louder at 478-751-2806 to get the date of the next Meet and Greet.

Due to the nature of our services, many of these volunteer activities require screening, background checks, and confidentiality agreements. Methodist Home staff will help guide you through whatever processes are needed for particular volunteer work.
