The Foundation Board of The Methodist Home of the
South Georgia Conference, Inc. meets bi-annually.
The Foundation met twice this past year. We celebrated that 12 families chose to leave The Methodist home in their wills. Through these estates, the Foundation was able to contribute over $684,781.15 to the Endowment Fund and Higher Education Program. We are truly grateful for the remembrance of those faithful supporters who choose to leave a legacy of love that will forever serve children and youth who are hurting and need a place to live and feel loved.
Through wise yet prudent investments, The Foundation, along with the Pitts' Trust was able to contribute $2,007,604.58 to The Methodist Home for Operations, Capital Improvements, and Higher Education and Independent Living expenses. We are optimistic with the economic recovery of this past year and pray that The Foundation will continue to financially support the ongoing work of The Children's Home.
It is our auditor's opinion that the financial statements were presented fairly and in all material respects. The financial position of The Foundation of The Methodist Home of the South Georgia Conference, Inc. as of June 30, 2006, and the changes in its net assets and its cash flows for the year ended in conformity with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America.
