Referral Types Accepted:

  • DFCS Custody
  • DFCS/DJJ Joint Custody
  • MAAC Referrals
  • Parental Custody (special circumstances)

Population Served

  • Girls ages 13-17; youth may be served beyond 17 until emancipation
  • Minimum IQ: 70; below 70 on case by case basis
  • Public School Eligible; Alternative School acceptable
  • Must be ambulatory and independently mobile

Youth Characteristics include, but not limited to:

  • Mild/Moderate Behavioral Issues
  • Mild/Moderate Emotional Issues
  • Oppositional/Defiant Behaviors
  • Reactive Attachment Issues (RAD)
  • Sexual Abuse History

Population Not Served

  • Youth who are drug or alcohol dependent (those with a history of substance use can be served on a case by case basis)
  • Youth who are currently suicidal, extremely aggressive or psychotic
  • Youth are pregnant.
  • Youth are medically fragile
  • Adjudicated Delinquents (can be served on a case by case basis; DJJ should contact Regional Director)
  • Youth clearly in need of more intensive services

Program Services

  • The Arabella Campus provides Residential Care Maximum Watchful Oversight/Additional Watchful Oversight services for girls (13-17 years old).
  • Emergency Placement- emergency placement services to DFCS counties in a fifty mile radius of the regional office.

Other Services Offered

  • Higher Education- Educational support is available for youth attending college, vocational school and/or military.
