Admissions

The Methodist Home for Children and Youth provides residential treatment services in a cottage setting in Macon , Georgia . Each cottage offers eight to ten children, boys and girls, ages 6-18, a broad spectrum of treatment services and interventions which address the unique needs of emotionally troubled youth in a community based setting.

General Intake Criteria

  • Ages 6-18
  • IQ Requirements
  • Basic Care- 70 or above
  • Intermediate Treatment – 85 or above
  • Public School Eligible

Types of Youth Served

  • Those from dependent or neglected backgrounds
  • Physical, emotional or sexual abuse victims.
  • Oppositional and defiant, verbal and/or physically aggressive youth.
  • Youth with learning disabilities, school problems or truancy issues
  • Youth who need shelter or protection due to economic, circumstantial or legal issues.

  • Psychiatric Supervision
  • Psychopharmocological Assistance
  • Therapy (Individual, Family and Group)
  • On-Campus Educational Services
  • Elementary E.B.D. (Emotional Behavior Disorder) Classrooms
  • Tutorial Services
  • Other Specialized Services, as needed
  • Preparation for Independent Living
  • Extensive Recreational and Life Skill Opportunities

    • Ropes Course

Youth who successfully complete the program of the main campus and group homes become eligible for extensive financial and educational support.
