The Auxiliary Board of the Methodist Home for Children and Youth (MHCY) is pleased to announce that its 2nd Golf Classic will be held on May 5, 2013 at the Club at Osprey Cove in St. Mary's, Georgia. The funds raised at this event will be used to support the mission of the MHCY: providing residential services to children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect, and/or abandonment. The St. Mary's MHCY has worked since its establishment by the Methodist Children's Home in 2002 to, simply put, restore childhoods. Donations from individuals, businesses, church groups, and foundations comprise 40% of funding for the MHCY; 60% of funding comes from state and federal reimbursements. Activities like this golf tournament are vital; they enable the MHCY to ensure quality and a variety of activities to help create better childhood memories to sustain these youngsters in later life!

The MHCY St. Mary's Golf Classic gets underway at 12:30 PM and golfers will compete in a Texas Scramble format. the cost for individual golfers is $100 and includes a box lunch, 18 holes of golf, and a reception following golf in the Osprey Cove Clubhouse.

Sponsorship opportunities for local businesses range from $100 to $1,500 and the names of all sponsors will appear on the St. Mary's Golf Classic Web site and in all promotional materials. In addition to sponsors and golfers, tournament representatives are also soliciting businesses throughout the community for donated products and services that will be offered as raffle and auction prizes.
